Well-Known Auctioneer Will Support Land Auctions for Farmers and Ranchers
AMARILLO, Texas (April 19, 2022) – Superior Land Auction has announced that world-renowned auctioneer Steve Friskup has joined the Superior Land Auction team as it elevates its focus on conducting auctions for farm and ranch landowners.
“It is an honor to have someone with Steve’s reputation and talents working with us as our newest land auctioneer,” says JT Haynes, chief executive officer and managing broker for Superior Land Auction. “He is widely respected as one of the best at his craft and we look forward to him helping our customers have the best seller experience and achieve the highest sale price for their land.”
Friskup grew up helping his father with auctions in Kansas and Oklahoma, and officially began his career as an auctioneer with the Triangle Sale Company in 1984 after attending Panhandle State University. Over the last 38-years, his reputation as a horse auctioneer has grown significantly, as has his unique ability to establish connections with sellers and buyers.
In addition to his auctioneer services, Friskup is pastor of the Muleshoe Cowboy Fellowship, and many know him from “Coffee with the Colonel” where he uses Facebook to share morning Bible study videos.
“Steve believes it is important to connect with people to provide the best guidance and service for the buyers,” says Haynes. “His honesty and humor keep the buyers coming to sales and keeps the atmosphere filled with energy. Maintaining customer relationships are important in the land auction industry and Steve is one of the best when it comes to creating connections.”
For his part, Friskup says he is excited to join the Superior Land Auction team and bring his talents to bear for farm and ranch land sales.
“I’m looking forward to working with Superior Land Auction as we move into the future of the farm and ranch land auction industry and take land auctions to new levels,” says Friskup. “I believe auctions are the best marketing method for land today and I am very pleased to be part of the vision of Superior Land Auction.”
Recognizing that auctions have become the most profitable way today for farmers and ranchers to sell land, Superior Land Auction recently changed its name from Superior Land Network. Auction services have always been part of its business, but the move signals the company increased focus on providing auctions nationwide for agricultural landowners.
“Just as our affiliate company, Superior Livestock Auction, specializes in livestock auctions, we have the experience and industry connections to successfully conduct land auctions for farmers and ranchers nationwide better than anyone else,” said Haynes. “Hiring Steve reflects our commitment is to be the leader in land auctions for farmers and ranchers and get them top dollar.”
The move to being more auction-focused is particularly important with sales of farm and ranch land expected to increase dramatically in coming years. That increase in sales is being driven by a variety of influences and often involves selling land that has been in their family for generations.
“We understand the emotions, needs and challenges of selling family farm and ranch land because we’re farm and ranch landowners too,” says Haynes. “Farmers and ranchers can be confident that when they work with Superior Land Auction that we will use all of our connections, expertise, and technology to create a positive and successful auction experience and achieve their land sale goals.”
