Morgan Conservation District Announces New STAR Conservation Program

Morgan Conservation District would like to announce the STAR program to eligible producers in Morgan County. The STAR program is a new program under the Colorado Department of Agriculture which targets soil health and soil health initiatives.

Eligible producers may enroll in the STAR program with Morgan Conservation District to receive funding assistance for soil health practices like cover crops, no-till, and more.

The program has a 3-year commitment, in which producers will monitor and track their soil health practices throughout this time.

Payments are issued at $75/acre with a minimum of $1,000 and maximum of $5,000. Payments do require a 50% match, either cash or in-kind.

This is a great opportunity for producers interested in soil health practices and management.

If you are interested, please contact Morgan Conservation District at 970-427-3362 or morganconservationdistrict@gmail.com.
