Colorado Livestock Association’s Long-Time Chief Executive Officer Bill Hammerich Announces His Retirement

GREELEY, CO – Colorado Livestock Association (CLA) today announced that the organization’s long-time Chief Executive Officer, Bill Hammerich, is retiring in mid-2022, starting a leadership transition process over the next year. Bill’s decision to retire will bring to a close a remarkable career of 20 years of service to the Colorado Livestock Association.

“We are extraordinarily grateful to Bill for his leadership,” said Dwain Weinrich, President of CLA. “CLA has successfully advocated for livestock producers in Colorado in large part because of his dedication, intellectual insight into policy issues, and effective management.”

“It has been my great honor and privilege to serve as the Chief Executive Officer for the past 20 years. I am proud of the organization that we are today and the impact we have had, but as we look into the future, I believe that it is time for a change of leadership in this position,” states Bill Hammerich.

“CLA represents the collective efforts of a dedicated board of directors and staff, engaged members, and innovative partners and constituents who have inspired us to think creatively and explore new directions. I could not be more excited about what’s next for this remarkable organization.”

During his tenure at the Colorado Livestock Association, Bill has guided the organization through many legislative and regulatory challenges, established a culture of financial stewardship and has advanced the growth of the Industry Preservation Fund.

Colorado’s livestock industry has benefited greatly from Bill’s expertise and dedication. The CLA staff, board and our many partners feel privileged to have worked with Bill and are enormously grateful to him for his many contributions.

An Executive Search Committee has been appointed to begin the process of selecting Bill’s successor.
