WLA ALERT: Opportunities for Wolf Reintro Engagement in Colorado – Wolf Restoration Public Open House Meeting Schedule

In July and August, CPW will be hosting public open house listening sessions throughout Colorado to provide opportunity for the public to inform wolf restoration and management planning. Dates and locations for these sessions are below.

At Western Landowners Alliance (WLA), we are working hard to ensure that the voice of Colorado’s working land stewards is heard loud and clear in this process. We, as landowners, have a lot at stake in how reintroduction plays out and offer practical experience managing landscapes, businesses and community relationships that create and rely on healthy wildlife habitat in the state.

Stewards of working wild landscapes across the West agree that the four C’s: Compensation, Conflict Prevention, (lethal) Control and Collaboration, contain the solutions that support working lands and wildlife. Hallie Mahowald, WLA’s programs director, will be advocating for these important tools as an appointee of the Stakeholder Advisory Group. As we engage on multiple levels, we invite you to reach out and share your perspective with us at WLA by emailing me at matt@westernlandowners.org, or directly with CPW through providing public comment online or attending a virtual or in-person open house within your community.

In-person open house dates and locations are posted below and may also be found on the CPW wolf engagement website. Additionally, you may provide public comments to CPW here or through an online open house. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, thoughts or concerns.

Sincerely,

Matthew Collins
Working Wild Challenge associate
