For those of you who are not familiar with Camp Rocky, here is a brief overview of this award-winning natural resources camp.

Outdoor Natural Resource Conservation Adventures Youth: Ages 14-19

Camp Rocky is a week-long residential camp for youth ages 14-19 who enjoy the outdoors and are interested in natural resources.

The Professional staff helps participants learn about the environment through hands-on experiences.

The students work in teams, and each year, students choose a resource field for their area of study; Soil & Water Conservation, Rangeland Science, Fish & Wildlife Management, Forest Management.

Other activities include nightly guest speakers from all aspects of natural resources and conservation, volleyball, basketball, hiking, kayaking, campfire, archery, group challenges, indoor/outdoor games, a talent show, and a dance.

Campers gain valuable insight into natural resources management, agriculture, and the human impacts on the environment; while meeting new friends from across Colorado, eating delicious food, and having a great time!

We will start planning this year’s event within the next few weeks and are very excited to get back together and soak in some great sunshine and fresh air!!!  Please let everyone know to register early as there is limited space.

We will most likely be under some COVID restrictions and will release these as we get closer to the date.

I know many of you actively promote Camp Rocky each year to your local schools, FFA groups, and other organizations.  We ask that you continue to share and we thank you all for the help and support in getting the word out about this amazing natural resource camping experience!

At this time we are asking our conservation districts, state partners, and organizations who have a passion for youth education and outreach centered around natural resources and conservation to please consider sponsoring a camper from your area or from anywhere around the state. We also encourage you to contact us if you are interested in volunteering or even just joining us for a day to experience what this camp is all about!

Please forward this to your district schools, FFA groups, community leaders, and all other contact groups you may have.

Thank you, everyone!
