Colorado Envirothon Registration Open Now thru May 25th!

Conservation Partners and Friends of Colorado Envirothon,

2021 has been a challenging year for students, educators, and the conservation community. The logistical challenges that we first encountered in 2020 have continued, especially in our school communities. Although we were saddened not to be able to join our students together in person this year, we are looking forward to a virtual competition that will enable our teams to maintain familiarity with the program, demonstrate their diligent work, and enable the winning team to participate in the 2021 NCF-Envirothon International Competition this summer. The International Competition will also be virtual this year.

Due to the constraints of a virtual world, this year’s competition will be limited to the testing portion of the event and will be structured in such a way that students and teachers can participate when it is convenient for each team. Registration for the Colorado Envirothon is open now through May 25th. Registration and participation in this year’s event is FREE and designed for maximum flexibility during this busy time of the school year.

We ask that you share this news with teachers, students, co-curricular groups such as 4H or FFA clubs that might be interested, and your fellow conservation leaders. A graphic that can accompany a web or Facebook posting from your organization is attached. We hope that providing a free and flexible event will encourage new teams to take advantage of the opportunity to get a small taste of how the competition is structured and stay familiar with the program!

2021 Event Details:

Registration: May 18-25 (11:59pm CST)

Dates (Testing Window): May 25- May 31 (11:59pm CST)

Testing Format: Team members can take tests at the same time or individually. Advisors are asked to monitor students for adherence to testing policies (no use of outside resources/internet/etc.). Team advisors will be provided with testing instructions for each student to access their online tests; paper copies are available upon request.

Subjects: There will be tests on each of the 4 subject areas. Each subject’s test will be separate, and students can complete them all in one sitting or separately over the course of the testing period. We had hoped to offer a hands-on, hybrid event this year, but time and logistical constraints have made this difficult in Colorado and many other participating states.
For more information, support with registration, or support during the event please contact Noah McCord, Envirothon Program Coordinator, at envirothon@coloradoacd.org or 303.947.3334
