Frank Mitloehner, Ph.D.

Professor and Air Quality Extension Specialist at University of California, DavisDr. Frank Mitloehner is a professor and air quality specialist in cooperative extension in the Department of Animal Science at the University of California, Davis. Dr. Mitloehner is passionate about understanding and mitigating air emissions from livestock operations, as well as studying the implications of these emissions on the health of farm workers and neighboring communities. In addition, he is focusing on the food production challenge that will become a global issue as the world’s population grows to nearly 10 billion by 2050. Frank is also director of the CLEAR Center, which has two cores – research and communications. rank received a Master of Science degree in animal science and agricultural engineering from the University of Leipzig, Germany, and a doctoral degree in animal science from Texas Tech University.

Dr. Mark Stephenson, Ph.D.

Director of Dairy Policy Analysis at University of Wisconsin-MadisonMark Stephenson is the Director of Dairy Policy Analysis at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In this position, Dr. Stephenson conducts and coordinates research and outreach activities related to the dairy industry. He is involved in applied research at the firm-level, including milk assembly costs, processing costs, new processing technologies, farm costs and price risk management. He is also active in sector-level performance including dairy policy, spatial milk pricing, international trade and milk price forecasting. Mark has a second title as Director of Wisconsin’s Center for Dairy Profitability. In this capacity, he works with faculty and staff to coordinate a multi-disciplinary approach to dairy farm-level problem solving and planning. A native of Michigan, Dr. Stephenson received his Bachelorʼs and Masterʼs degree from Michigan State University in Dairy Science and later, a second Masterʼs and PhD in Agricultural Economics at Cornell University.
