Former National Farmers Union Presidents Urge Climate Action

In a letter sent this week, several former Farmers Union presidents urged President-elect Joe Biden to “revitalize rural America and advance U.S. climate leadership on the world stage.”

The signatories, including Roger Johnson, Tom Buis, Dave Fredrickson, and Leland Swenson, outlined their climate priorities for the incoming administration, highlighting opportunities to mitigate climate change while also stimulating economic growth and creating jobs. More specifically, they recommended that Biden throw his support behind policies and programs that establish carbon markets and expand the use of biofuels.
