Get Prepared: Redistricting is Coming to Southwest Colorado

Please join the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association, Club 20, Colorado Farm Bureau, Colorado Livestock Association, Colorado Mining Association, Colorado Wool Growers Association, Colorado Dairy Farmers, Colorado Pork Producers Council, Colorado Rural Electric Association, Rocky Mountain Farmers Union for a Zoom discussion with Colorado Neighborhood Coalition about how to get involved in the redistricting process. Because population growth in much of southwest Colorado has lagged the Denver Metro area, our legislative districts will have to grow and be fully reconfigured. The maps adopted in 2021 will be in effect for the next 10 years. Make your rural voice heard!

The passage of Amendments Y & Z in 2018 fundamentally changed how redistricting is conducted. The time to apply for the Congressional and Legislative Redistricting Commissions is now. The application window closes November 10, 2020. If southwest Coloradans are not involved in this process, the Denver Metro area will dominate the map-drawing process.

Monday, October 19 at 6 p.m. MDT
