Conaway Praises U.S.-Japan Trade Deal

Washington, D.C. – House Agriculture Committee Ranking Member K. Michael Conaway (TX-11) made the following statement today after President Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced a trade agreement increasing market access for U.S. agricultural producers in Japan:

“Today’s deal announced by President Trump and Prime Minister Abe substantially improves U.S. access to Japan’s agricultural markets. I commend President Trump and the U.S. Trade Representative’s team for their hard work to guarantee additional market access into Japan for U.S. beef, pork, wheat, dairy, sorghum and other farm products. I’m confident future negotiations will further broaden market access for U.S. farmers and ranchers.”
