New NALJA Officers Elected

On Saturday, June 29, 2019, applicants interviewed for four open positions on the North American Limousin Junior Association (NALJA) board. They spoke about their desire to be on the board, their biggest influences in life, and their future goals.

The new officers and board members for the 2019-2020 year were named during the awards ceremony held on July 5, 2019 in Springfield, Missouri.

Elected to lead NALJA as president for the upcoming year is Lindsey Gulotta, Independence, La. Lindsey is the daughter of Troy and Linda Gulotta of Independence, La. Lindsey intends to continue her involvement with the cattle industry and the Limousin breed as she furthers her education at Louisiana State University.

Colt Schrader, Beggs, Okla. was selected to serve as the vice president for the 2019-2020 year. Colt is the son of Art and Lesa Schrader. He is currently attending Oklahoma State University with the goal to be an agriculture teacher and FFA Advisor.

Serving as the 2019-2020 NALJA secretary is Hannah Ziegler. She is the daughter of Chris Ziegler of Bloomville, Ohio. Hannah plans to continue her involvement in the agriculture industry by majoring in animal science and agriculture communications. This will be her third year on the NALJA board and her second term on the executive committee.

Serving his second year on the NALJA board of directors, Zane Gavette was elected treasurer. Zane currently operates ZG Show Cattle. He is the son of Debi Gavette, Everson, Wash.

Rounding out the NALJA executive committee is Ex-Officio Randa Taylor, Decatur, Texas. Randa is the daughter of Suzanne Taylor of Decatur, Texas. She will continue to attend Texas A&M this fall to pursue her degree in animal science and then go into pediatric nursing. Randa will be serving her fourth year on the NALJA board, recently serving as the 2018-2019 NALJA president.

Four new junior members were elected to their first term on the board of directors. Clayton Schowe, Cassville, Mo. Clayton is the son of Dale and Jill Schowe. Riley Smith, Macomb, Ill. is the son of Bret and Erin Smith. From Starbuck, Minn., Wiley Fanta, son of Casey and Kelly Fanta also joined the NALJA Board. Shelby Hubbard, Miami, Okla., daughter of George and Suzanne Hubbard, was the fourth new board member.

Tristan Gulotta, Independence, La., the son of Troy and Linda Gulotta, continues his second year on the NALJA Board.

Brooke Falk, Callie Hicks, Dominic Ruppert, Aaron Linhart, and Ethan Freund all completed their service for the NALJA Board. “Thank you for your service, your dedication, and being the source of quite a few laughs during your time as board members,” expressed Katie Campbell, director of activities.
