It’s time for the 3rd Annual West Greeley Conservation District’s FREE BBQ!  We invite you, your family, friends, co-workers, and employees to join us from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 9th (see attached). PLEASE help spread the word. We will begin serving supper at 5 p.m.

Anytime West Greeley Conservation District (WGCD) hosts large groups at Houston Gardens, our beautiful outdoor classroom, we ask that participants park in the Boys & Girls Club parking lot at 2400 W. 4th Street – that we share with them. Enter the Gardens through our west gate, we will have gators and golf carts available to help folks who need assistance.

The main entrance will be blocked for the safety of all vendors and participants.

Please RSVP to WGCD by noon Monday, Aug. 2, by calling 970-356-8097 x: 3 or email: info@wgcd.org with the total number of attendees in your group – we don’t want to run out of food!

This annual event is open to all ages, there will be interesting things for all to explore.  We will host over 20 educational and informational booth activities plus tours of the gardens (handicapped accessible trails are available). Everything is linked to agriculture, conservation and natural resources.

The booths include: FFA Petting Zoo, CSU Bug Zoo, NRCS Soil Tunnel, Pheasants/DOW, CFA, NoCo Pest/Taxidermy, Tucker Dairy, Sonrise Honey Co. & Bee Keepers, CoCoRaHs-Rain Gauges, Poudre Learning Center, Central Colorado Water Conservancy District, Colorado State Forestry Service Nursery, Colorado Foundation for Ag in the Classroom, Country Sunshine Jams, NRCS Field Office, Farm Service Association, Weld County Weeds, Bird Conservancy of the Rockies, Nature’s Educators, Rocky Mountain Raptor Program, 4-Rivers Equipment, Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District, Colorado Association of Conservation Districts with multiple member Districts attending. Plus the Colorado Tree Coalition, City of Greeley Creative District Team, Irrometer Company, Hortau, National Areas of Colorado, Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program.
