CCALT Applying for Renewal of Accreditation
The Land Trust Accreditation Program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever. In 2009, the Colorado Cattlemen’s Agricultural Land Trust (CCALT) received our first accreditation certification. To maintain that accreditation status, CCALT must renew our accreditation every five years.
We are pleased to announce that the Colorado Cattlemen’s Agricultural Land Trust is applying for renewal of accreditation in 2019.
The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, conducts extensive reviews of each renewal applicant’s policies and programs. During the renewal process, the Commission invites public input and accepts signed, written comments on pending applications. Comments must relate to how CCALT complies with national quality standards. These standards address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust. For the full list of standards click here. Comments on CCALT’s application will be most useful by September 14, 2019.
Comments regarding CCALT may be e-mailed or mailed to the Land Trust Accreditation Commission at the following address:

Save the Date: CCALT’s 2019 Forever BBQ is July 13th at the Steel Ranch in Buena Vista!

About the Steel Ranch
CCALT partnered with the Steel family and The Trust for Public Land to conserve the Steel ranch in 2017. Located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 285 and U.S. Highway 24 just south of the Town of Buena Vista, the 186-acre ranch is one of Colorado’s most visible working landscapes. Conservation of the ranch was a lifelong dream of landowners, Ed and Geraldine Steel, and after Ed’s passing, Geraldine saw their dream through to fruition.
