DENVER, CO – The team is called Current Ag Concerns and they are from Iowa. The four students traveled to Denver, CO with the organization’s Executive Director Jenna Stevens, to take in the 113th National Western Stock Show.

While in the Yards, the students conducted a few interviews: Beth Lamp (narrator and interviews 1&4), Nate Lange (interview 1 and transition), Robert Schaefer (interviews 2-4), and Megan Clark (interviews 2&3).

They interviewed the following people:

  • Interview 2 Ashlyn Ochsner- Kersey, Colorado Owner Ochsner Limousin
  • Interview 3 Nick Prevo- Burlington, Iowa Owner of Rosco Valley Cattle Co.

Thanks to the Current Ag Issues Team for sharing their interviews with The BARN. I had the distinct honor to visit with the team in the historic Stadium Arena in between cattle shows. Hope to see them next year and hope they continue to share their experiences in agriculture no matter if they are in Colorado, Iowa or wherever they choose next.

I enjoyed visiting with you and the students as well…wish we would have had more time to visit. What you are doing is what I wish someone at CSU or another university or even high school would do here in Colorado…

  2. Hey Brian,

Thank you again for speaking with my students and I in Denver. We learned a lot and really enjoyed hearing from someone who was self-made in the industry. I am attaching an eight-minute clip we compiled from our interviews on the hill and in the yards. It is a little rough, but the students had a blast making it. They said it was far more fun than giving ag reports in the studio!

We hope that we can stay in touch over the course of the next year. The kids and I would love to play a bigger part in the Stock Show and help you gather content.

Thank you again for speaking with us and we look forward to hearing from you in the future!

    Jenna Stevens

    Current Ag Concerns Executive Director
