CO Governor Hickenlooper announces Boards and Commissions appointments
DENVER — Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018 — Gov. Hickenlooper today announced Boards and Commissions appointments to the Board of Trustees for Adams State University, Board of Trustees of the Colorado School of Mines, Board of Trustees for Colorado Mesa University, Board of Governors of the Colorado State University System, State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education, Board of Trustees for Fort Lewis College, Historic Preservation State Review Board, Colorado Juvenile Parole Board, Board of Trustees of Metropolitan State University of Denver, Board of Trustees of the University of Northern Colorado, Public Employees’ Retirement Benefit Plans Pension Review Subcommittee, Utilities Consumer Council, and Board of Trustees for Western State Colorado University.
The Board of Trustees for Adams State University makes policy for the school and oversees its operation.

The Public Employees’ Retirement Benefit Plans Pension Review Subcommittee shall (1) review existing laws governing PERA;s plan design, including, but not limited to, retirement age requirements, service requirements for retirement eligibility, payment and accrual of benefits, including those for disability retirement, employee and employer contributions; (2) Conduct regular financial and funding analyses and perform bi-annual reviews of PERA’s financial health, make recommendations to the PERA Board regarding assumptions, funding policy, reporting practices, the fund’s annual actuarial valuation and other relevant operation policies, suggest potential enhancement to PERA’s annual analyses to keep PERA’s assumptions and targets on a sustainable track, commission an independent review of PERA’s economic and investment assumptions every three years (3) review PERA’s funded status, conduct annual reviews of the calculated norm costs and share of contributions that will cover current benefits and the unfunded liability, conduct bi-annual reviews of the planned reduction of the unfunded liability (4) make general recommendations to the PERA Board and the General Assembly, produce an annual, publicly available report about PERA’s funding status that includes any applicable corrective recommendations and ensure that the PERA Board is following its mandate and make necessary recommendations for the Board’s structure as needed.
